"Album Artist" tag is supposed to be for albums that have songs that are 'performed' by multiple artists, not for albums that have songs from different artists.
Yup, so for example you might have a track, "South Side" by Moby (featuring Gwen Stefani) and assign Album Artist as "Moby". It'll get files under Moby if you view the Album Artist tag, but it'll still find it if you search for Gwen Stefani.
Another example is that I have "The Best of Geroge Harrison", where half the tracks are by "The Beatles", I'd like the Album Artist to be "George Harrison", but have the individual tracks also tagges as Beatles tracks.
It is useful, but it's definitely not intended for "multiples" in the way you want it. (Me too).

Yes...he holds it up and then sticks it into the slot.
Interesting... I was about to edit my last post that Apple's site doesn't claim the Macbook has any slots... I can't see any in the Macbook QTVR images either.

This sounds to me like Wal-Mart might be angling to get in on the online movie store business. They're certainly not going to stop selling movies, but I can see them pressuring studios to partner with them (exclusively) for some sort of online download service.
As for Wal-Mart, the company, it's power and influence on business markets in this country is not so much a commentary on itself, but instead, on society. The fact is there are a lot of poor people in this country who need cheap goods and services and Wal-Mart affords that to them. You take that away and something else will replace it.

Well, Libya does have oil. Maybe once we help the al-Qaeda-allied rebels (http://www.telegraph.co.uk/news/worldnews/africaandindianocean/libya/8407047/Libyan-rebel-commander-admits-his-fighters-have-al-Qaeda-links.html) get rid of Gadaffi, they'll sell us some.
America doesn't care who actually owns the oil, we just need access to it, or we need to crack open a country to be bought up by our favorite oil companies (Iraqi oilfields). As long as relations are good with whoever owns the resource (doesn't matter if that ownership came about via warfare) and we have access, the rest doesn't seem to matter.

Ain't that the truth! Anyone actually seen someone using one of these yet?
I saw someone using one in the J&R next to where I work, but he bought a Creative Zen instead. I guess he didn't like the brown ipod-esque player.

There have to be a lot of developers that won't get the opportunity to go because it sold out. Apple needs to start holding 2 of these per year to support the developer community.
That doesn't make any sense....

I don't have a classic, but I'd like to associate myself with the people talking about how hilarious the old thread is. Also, here's a repost of Steve introducing the original: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=kN0SVBCJqLs
I was 17 in senior in high school when iPod was introduced, though I don't think I was even aware of it. I had a friend that year who had some kind of horrible "mp3 player" and the next year when I moved into my college dorm someone on my floor had an iPod so I played with one for the first time. My first one was the light blue first-gen mini which I bought sometime in 2004 (which still works...I gave it to my mother when I replaced it with an iPhone on launch day 2007). When my crappy Dell laptop that had been my high school graduation present died a few months later, the iPod convinced me to get my first Mac.
I hope they don't discontinue the classic just for the nostalgia factor =)

Of course! This announcement doesn't have any effect on a MBP release (although the MB may not get the update yet).
And if they launched what most would consider a fantastic new imac with such little fanfare, I'm sure MBP's will receive the same sort of treatment. Maybe tomorrow, maybe next week. But this new iMac (did I say how fantastic it is) is a good sign we'll see C2D MBP's soon.:D

The point of the military is to defend the country/save lives. Yet they don't want to address healthcare which plays a role in thousands and thousands of deaths annually and a poor quality of life for millions more.

Hehe. You are the one falling for the myth about MP myth. DXOMark has a lengthy article that explains why more megapixels is NOT a bad thing. It does NOT negatively influence low light capabilities, contrary to popular belief.
I never disagreed with that, but that's not what I'm talking about-- I'm talking about sensor capabilities, which is the core issue in the MP myth. Just because something has 3 more MP than something else doesn't make it better at all... the quality of the sensor is essential, no? I'm not saying its a bad thing, but to say that this 5MP camera from this manufacturer is worse than this 8MP camera from a different manufacturer solely based on MP... that's the crux of the MP fallacy.

Hmmm...... If you look closely at the banner photo you'll see the "64-bit" logo is awfully close to the photo of the iMac. The current Intel iMacs are not 64-bit since the Core Duo (1) processers are 32-bit. Could this mean that the iMacs are going to get the new Core Duo 2 processers, which just happen to be 64-bit.
Same goes for the MacBook Pros

That's not quite it. People were annoyed at the fact that the event was so hyped, not that it was somehow a "bad" thing.
It wasn't over hyped by Apple, they only stuck a teaser on their homepage for 24 hours.

My local Best Buy as of 11:15 this morning(The Woodlands, Texas) did not have any iPad 2's available. I failed to ask them if they were already sold out for the day or if they just didn't have them in stock. Regardless, no luck there.
